UAAP: Jeric Teng believes Jeff Javillonar’s push was intentional
De La Salle’s Jeron Teng claims that the rough play that led to his brother’s injury was done on purpose.
Jeron aired his concern through Twitter after his brother Jeric suffered a nasty fall during University of Sto. Tomas’ basketball game with National University on Wednesday.
“I know it's no accident. I've known him since RP youth days,” Jeron tweeted, alluding to Javillonar.
University of Sto. Tomas’ prized player Jeric Teng was forced to bail out of their UAAP game against National University (NU) on Wednesday after injuring his right shoulder in the first half.
Teng suffered a bad landing after he was pushed by NU’s Jeoffrey Javillonar 1:16 remaining in the second quarter.
The 22-year-old shooting guard was taken off the floor after the incident and missed the rest of the game.
Teng believes Javillonar’s push was intentional.
“Hindi ko nakita dahil galing sa likod. Hindi ko alam kung bakit niya ginawa ‘yun. Hindi naman siya screen, hindi siya steal," he said in Reuben Terrado’s Spin.ph report.
“May tumunog eh. Magpapa X-ray pa ako. Sana wala lang ito. Pero positive naman dahil nagagalaw ko ‘yung kamay ko,” he said.
UST eventually lost to National University, 71-67, their first in three starts.
“'May araw rin siya.' ‘Yun ang message ko sa kanya. Sa kanya rin babalik ‘yun,” Teng said of Javillonar.
UPDATE: Jeoffrey Javillonar received a MEMO from UAAP Technical Comimittee.
