UAAP Season 78 Men's Basketball First Round Schedule Revealed
ABS-CBN Sports on Monday unveiled the schedule of the first round of the UAAP Season 78 men's basketball tournament, along with the UAAP Cheer Dance Competition.
The UAAP Cheer Dance Competition will be held on October 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena, ahead of the first round showdown between traditional rivals Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University, which is scheduled for October 4, also at the MOA Arena.

MVP Kiefer Ravena, Jeron Teng, Belo, Newsome, Abdul named UAAP 77 Mythical team
ATENEO star Kiefer Ravena was officially proclaimed MVP of Season 77 of the UAAP men's basketball tournament on Wednesday - another high point in what has so far been a bounce-back season for the Blue Eagles.
Ravena totalled 77.6429 points in the statistical rankings released by the league's stats provider Imperium Technology and Smart Bro to bag his first league MVP award, a confidence boost for the third-year guard heading to the Final Four where the Blue Eagles will be the top seed.

UAAP 77: UE beats UST to force playoff for last final four berth
The University of the East (UE) Red Warriors are hoping to continue their late season surge as they wrap up their UAAP Season 77 elimination round campaign against the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tuesday at the Araneta Coliseum.
A win over the Growling Tigers will put the Red Warriors' record at 9-5, tying them with the National University (NU) Bulldogs and forcing a playoff for the last spot in the Final Four.

NU is back-to-back UAAP Cheerdance champs; UP, UST on Top 3 (VIDEOS)
The National University (NU) Pep Squad performed a difficult, Native American-themed routine flawlessly to win the UAAP Cheerdance Competition for the second consecutive season in front of a packed crowd at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.
The defending champions, performing last among the eight squads, showed that the best was indeed saved for last as they performed a complicated routine perfectly, to the delight of the NU fans who were hoping for their team to achieve a "bark-to-back."

UST's Jeric Teng applies for 2013 PBA Rookie Draft
Graduating University of Santo Tomas (UST) guard Jeric Teng is now setting his sights on the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Teng, who was unable to lead the growling tigers to the promised land in the UAAP, revealed on Thursday’s episode of ANC’s “Headstart” that he has applied for the PBA rookie draft so he can fulfill his dreams of playing in the pro league.
Teng, whose main role model is his dad, PBA legend Alvin "Robocop" Teng, hopes a team will notice his talent in the hardcourt.

La Salle claims UAAP 76 crown; beats UST in OT thriller
The De La Salle Green Archers survived an epic overtime match against University of Santo Tomas, 71-69, to win the UAAP Season 76 basketball title on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Almond Vosotros hit the go-ahead basket with 19 seconds left to give the Green Archers their first title since 2007, completing their comeback after losing Game One of the best-of-three series.

La Salle bullies UST on UAAP 76 Finals Game 2 (REPLAY VIDEO)
The De La Salle University Green Archers are still alive. The Taft-based squad flexed their difference in size and took advantage of a foul-plagued University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers team, winning 77-70, Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, to force a winner-take-all game three in the Finals of UAAP Season 76.
UST won a squeaker in game one, 73-72, but La Salle evened the best-of-three series thanks to inspired play by their big men trio of Jason Perkins, Arnold Van Opstal and Norbert Torres, plus forward Jeron Teng.

University of Sto. Tomas (UST) closed out top-seeded National University (NU), 76-69, in their knockout game to return to the UAAP men’s basketball finals and arrange a title showdown against De La Salle University (DLSU).
The Bulldogs bowed out despite a twice-to-beat edge as the fourth-seeded Tigers completed a two-game sweep in front of 17,828 spectators at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Jeric Teng led the Tigers with 19 points while Kevin Ferrer, who did the most damage in the fourth quarter, had 18.

UST's Kevin Ferrer says nothing personal on defending Ray Parks
Kevin Ferrer said there was nothing personal with the way he defended Bobby Ray Parks on Sunday, saying he was just trying to do the best he can to stop one of the best players in the UAAP basketball today.
The big man from University of Santo Tomas was credited for his all-around play in the Tigers’ 71-62 Final Four win over National University, scoring 14 points and hitting four three-pointers to help the Tigers forge a rubber match for a berth in this year’s Finals.

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers built a huge lead in the third quarter, then relied on veteran guard Jeric Teng in the endgame to defeat the National University (NU) Bulldogs, 71-62, in their Final Four clash Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
With NU breathing down their necks, 58-63, with 3:40 to go in the game, Teng drilled a cold-blooded triple over the out-stretched arms of Ray Parks to give the Tigers a 66-58 lead.

After five years, there will be a new champion in the UAAP, after the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers defeated the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 82-74, to claim the last spot in the Final Four of the UAAP Season 76 men's basketball tournament.
The two teams who faced off for the UAAP crown in Season 75 battled for the last Final Four berth Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum, and this time, it was the Growling Tigers who came out on top.

The National University Bulldogs Pep Squad won the UAAP Cheerdance Competition title on Sunday, wowing the judges with a flawless routine inspired by Aladdin for 696.5 points.
Boasting of an aggressive recruitment program, NU completed its climb to the top after making its first podium appearance last year, when its finished third. Two seasons ago, the Bulldogs Pep Squad finished sixth in the competition.

UAAP 76: Men's Basketball Final Four possible scenarios
The men's basketball action for UAAP Season 76 is down to its final two playdates but the Final Four picture is not yet set as two teams are still fighting for the last twice-to-beat advantage, while two other teams are still knocking on the semis doors.
Far Eastern University (10-4) and De La Salle University (9-4) are jockeying for the second win-once edge as National University (10-4) is the only team guaranteed with the win-once bonus in the Final Four.

UST’s Ferrer "super flattered" to be invited for Gilas cadet team
University of Santo Tomas stalwart Kevin Ferrer Gilas Pilipinas won’t have any second thoughts accepting the invitation of national coach Chot Reyes to become part of the Gilas Pilipinas cadet pool.
Ferrer said it has been a long-time dream of his to become a regular part of the national team.
“Super flattered ako dahil na-consider ako ni coach (Chot),” said the young UST forward in a talk with Spin. “Of course, I’ll accept this invitation.”

UAAP: UST Growling Tigers outlast FEU in double overtime
Heart of a Growling Tiger.University of Santo Tomas leaned on massive 3-pointers to escape Far Eastern University, 79-78, in double overtime in the 76th UAAP men's basketball tournament on Sunday, September 1 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
After giving up a double-digit lead at halftime, the Tamaraws leaned on role players Gryann Mendoza, Anthony Hargrove and Roger Pogoy to come back from a 7-point deficit in the final quarter to take a 62-59 lead with 7.4 seconds remaining.
