UAAP 76 Standings: DLSU, FEU tied at No.2; NU solo at No.1
The De La Salle University Green Archers earned a share of second place in the UAAP Season 76 men’s basketball tournament after outlasting the University of the East Red Warriors in overtime, 75-65, Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum. (watch DLSU vs UE full game replay here)

La Salle made all six of their field goal attempts in overtime and got a career-high 22 points from Jason Perkins as they marched to their fifth win in a row.

PBA chief Salud to impose heavy sanctions on Pingris-Nabong melee
Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) commissioner Chito Salud has assured he will be handing out heavy sanctions against players who were involved in the free-for-all between San Mig Coffee and Global Port on Wednesday night.

The PBA chieftain said in an interview on Sport 5 Center that he has already summoned the players who figured in the melee that marred San Mig Coffee’s 102-88 win over GlobalPort.

Benches cleared for Global Port and San Mig Coffee Wednesday night after several players from both teams went at each other in the third quarter of their game at the PBA Governors’ Cup.
Thrown out of the playing court at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City were San Mig Coffee’s Marc Pingris and GlobalPort’s Kelly Nabong.

PBA fines Ginebra's Mark Caguioa for bashing referees
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has slapped Barangay Ginebra’s Mark Caguioa with a P20,000 fine for the latter’s unfavorable statements against PBA referees.

“Mark Caguioa was fined by the league the amount of P20,000 for tweeting and issuing statements to media critical of officiating and considered inimical to the interest of the PBA,” PBA commissioner Chito Salud said in a statement.
