Jessica Sanchez to sing 'Lupang Hinirang' at Pacquiao-Rios fight

American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez has agreed to sing the national anthems before the highly-anticipated welterweight showdown between Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Mexican-American boxer Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios.

With less than a week to go before the fight, Pacquiao took to Twitter Tuesday morning to ask Sanchez if she will “do me the honor of singing the national anthems before our fight?”

Jessica Sanchez Sings ‘You’re All I Need To Get By’ For Democrats

Jessica Sanchez brought the house down on the second night of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday (Thursday morning, Manila time).

Backed by a choir, the “American Idol” runner-up wowed delegates with a soulful rendition of “You’re All I Need To Get By”, the classic duet by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

“I might not be old enough to vote, but I’m so honored and excited to perform at @BarackObama’s big party in Charlotte next week!#DNC2012!” the 17-year-old Filipino-Mexican-American had tweeted over the weekend.

Jessica Sanchez To Sing US National Anthem On Pacquaio-vs-Bradley Boxing Fight

American Idol Runner-Up Jessica Sanchez is set to sing the US National Anthem, "Star-Spangled Banner", in the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley bout in Las Vegas June 9 Saturday (June 10 Sunday, Manila Time). She confirmed it on her Twitter account today, June 6, 2012.

Filipinos replied on Jessica’s tweet right away saying that they desire Jessica to sing the ‘Lupang Hinirang’. But I guess, it will be a hard job for Jessica to sing the Philippine national anthem because of his American accent. And I am afraid that she might not sing it correctly or perfectly because she is not really good in speaking our language. And as we all know, our government especially the NHI is very very strict and is very very sensitive when it comes to our national anthem. One mistake may lead to a law suit. Sino sino na ba ang Pinoy singers na nag-public apology dahil sinabihan sila ng NHI na mali ang kanilang pagkakanta sa ating 'Lupang Hinirang'?  -- Martin Nievera, Lani Misalucha, Christian Baustista , just to name a few.

But don’t get me wrong guys; I still believe that Jessica, someday, could sing the Philippine national anthem flawlessly. She just needs a long long preparation.

Jennifer Holliday & Jessica Sanchez Photo Meme

Filipinos are really one of the funniest people in the world. Even if we were still bemoaning with the results of American Idol 11, where half-Filipina Jessica Sanchez only settles for runner-up, we can still look on the brighter side and find time to have fun. Truly evidence that it’s more fun in the Philippines! :)

Look at this Photo Memes, of Jennifer Holliday and Jessica during their duet of ‘And I Am Telling You’ on American Idol 11 Results Night, created by Filipino Netizens.

Btw, you can watch their amazing duet HERE

Jennifer Holiday & Jessica Sanchez duet "And I Am Telling You" - American Idol 11 Finale (video)

Jennifer Holliday sang her signature song “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” with Jessica Sanchez on the American Idol Season 11 Finale. This has got to be one of the best performances on tonight’s finale and probably this whole season!

Other performance of the night is when Fantasia Barrino returns to the American Idol stage with Joshua Ledet! Joshua has been a huge fan of Fantasia ever since and they clearly got the same style in singing.

Phillip Phillips wins American Idol 2012; Jessica Sanchez settles 1st Runner Up

America has spoken and their choice for the next American Idol is no other than...(drum roll here)...it's Phillip Phillips! Yeah another gentleman won the competition. I'am really really sad for Jessica Sanchez. She deserves the title more than that 'white-guy-with-guitar' (bitter? lol)

Haaay. Parang ako talaga ang natalo diba? haha. I just thought the title will go for Jessica. Well, still, we are proud of you Jessica! You really make every Filipino and Mexican proud!

I was really depressed right now. Nakakaasar! ‘wag lang talaga papuntahin ng American Idol yang si Phillip dito sa Pilipinas. Ipapabugbog ko yan.  lol jk.

Naghanda pa naman ako ng Congratulations pic para kay Jessica. Ayan oh ! Asaaar talaga!! haha!!

If you missed the American Idol 11 Finale - Performance Show. You can watch the full episode above.

HIGHLIGHTS:
Jessica Sanchez performed "I Have Nothing""The Prayer", and "Change Nothing"
Phillip Phillips sang "Stand By Me"" Movin Out" and "Home".

Watch the American idol 11 Results Night tomorrow. Working Online Live Stream Here (stream is already fixed)

Jessica Sanchez sang "Change Nothing" - American Idol 11 Final Show (Video)

ROUND 3. American Idol 11 Final Showdown. Jessica Sanchez sang "Change Nothing" as her winning piece. I was disappointed on Jimmy Lovine on choosing this song because for me that song is not a winning song...not a finale song. It would be better if he gave Jessica a Beyonce song or even Mariah's song. Asar! :(

Anyways, Jessica is still the best! :)

Judges Thoughts:

Randy Jackson said “I did not love the song but you made something more of the song. You got urban in you. You brought the song to life but the song was just OK.”

Steven Tyler said “I know how good you can sing. I just don’t think that was the proper song for you to sing.”

Jennifer Lopez said “I thought you sang the song really well. You have so much soul. When you go to make your record, you have to be able to say this is not me or this is me and put a twist on it. Everything has to be you.”

"The Prayer" - Jessica Sanchez - American Idol 11 Finale Show (video)

"The Prayer" - Jessica Sanchez

ROUND 2.  American Idol 11 Final Showdown. Jessica Sanchez performed "The Prayer" as her 2nd song. It is my favorite performance of her tonight and I wish she sing the whole song (haha). On the other hand, Phillip Phillips sang "Movin Out".

Round 2 is a tie. Steven Tyler chose Jessica Sanchez, Jennifer Lopez picked Phillip and Randy Jackson said its a tie.

"Movin Out" - Phillip Phillips

"I Have Nothing" - Jessica Sanchez - American Idol 11 Finale Show (Video)

"I Have Nothing" - Jessica Sanchez

ROUND 1: American Idol 11 Final Showdown. Jessica Sanchez sang Whitney Houston classic song "I Have Nothing". I would commend Simon Fuller for choosing that song for Jessica. Twas beautiful & powerful song just like Jessica - who look very beautiful in her dress and own a powerful voice. She nailed it!

"Stand By Me" - Phillip Phillips

Meanwhile, Phillip Phillips performed "Stand By Me" by Ben E King, also chosen by Fuller.

Round 1 goes to Jessica Sanchez according to Randy Jackson. yehey! :)

Jessica Sanchez & Phillip Phillips Made It to American Idol 11 Finale

16-years old Jessica Sanchez and 21-years old Phillip Phillips made it to the American Idol 11 Finale which will be held on May 22, 2012 (May 23: Manila Time).

I was happy and a bit shocked this morning when I heard the news.

Happy because Jessica who also has Filipino descent reached the show finale and vying for the Idol Title. (feel so proud that Filipino blood is also running in my veins). :)

Shocked because Idol Judges Favorite and Front-runner Joshua Ledet has been voted off in the American Idol Season 11. I don't like Joshua but yesterday I predicted that it's Phillip who will be eliminated, which I based it on their performance last night. [watch/read here]

Well, Phillip should feel so lucky tonight because it's not him that bids goodbye. Congrats Jessica and Phillip!

"My All" - Jessica Sanchez on American Idol 11 Top 3 Show

Jessica Sanchez performed Mariah Carey's song, "My All" during the American Idol Top 3 Performance Show

I must say, Jessica really sounds like Mariah. Great song choice for her! And If you will ask me, This performance of her is my favorite. It edge out her "I Don't Want A Miss A Things" [watch here] and "Ill Be There" performances tonight.

 Judges Thoughts:

Randy Jackson said “Yo, I mean, that was absolutely beautiful. We tell people never to do Mariah, but I’m tellin’ you what, that was one of the best Mariah songs sung on TV.”

Steven Tyler said “When you sing, you make people hang on your every note. I hope you get used to encores.”

Jennifer Lopez said “Hard song. You did it so beautifully and you did it in your own way.”

"I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" - Jessica Sanchez on American Idol 11 Top 3 Show

I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing - Jessica Sanchez

Jessica Sanchez sang “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith during the American Idol 11 Top 3 performance show.

I really love Jessica but I don't like this performance of her. The beginning was boring. Albeit she made a moment in the end, that's not enough I think.

I'll Be There - Jessica Sanchez
Jessica's last song for American Idol 11 Top 3 performance show is a Jackson 5 classic, "I'll Be There". It was good not great but not bad atleast for my taste! :)

Support Jessica Sanchez.
If you’re in the US, you can vote for Jessica Sanchez by calling any of these numbers:

Jessica Sanchez leads Idol Top 3 in Online Fanbase

MANILA, Philippines - If the fanbase in social media would be the basis for winning the American Idol contest, then Filipino-Mexican bet Jessica Sanchez is sure to win by a big leap.

Two weeks before the finale of the American hit singing competition, remaining Top 3 contestants Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, and Phillip Phillips are left to vie for the title in the show's 11th season.

And based on online fans and followers, Sanchez, the remaining female contestant in the competition, is edging out her two male competitors.

Facebook.
In Facebook, Sanchez got more fanpage dedicated to her than the other two contestants. Some of these pages even exceeded the thousand mark for "likes".

As for the Top 3's official Facebook fanpages, Sanchez still leads in terms of number of "likes." Her page has with than 191,000 likes - far from the 72,000 likes in Phillips's fanpage, and from 51,000 likes in Ledet's fanpage.

These official Facebook fanpages help boost votes for the candidates. Each fanpage links to an app where voters can cast their votes online. Voting is being opened for at least a day at the end of every performance night. The following day, the contestants who garner the highest votes stay in the competition, while the one with the lowest votes is eliminated.

Twitter.
On the microblogging site Twitter, Sanchez also leads the fanbase race. Searching the name of Sanchez would yield to a longer list of pages dedicated to her than the other two contestants.

American Idol 11 Results: Top 3 Finalists Revealed!

Hollie Cavanagh

The Top 3 finalists for American Idol Season 11 revealed tonight after Hollie Cavanagh was eliminated on the show. As I predicted, Bottom 2 composed of Hollie and Phillip Phillips

So, The Idol Top 3 finalists are Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips and Filipina-Mexican-American Jessica Sanchez.

Speaking of Jessica, she has now reached the level of Filipina-Hawaiian Jasmine Trias in AI season 3. Keep on supporting Jessica so she can make it to the Final 2.

"And I Am Telling You" - Jessica Sanchez on American Idol 11 Top 4 Show

And I Am Telling You - Jessica Sanchez

Finally! Jessica Sanchez received again a standing ovation from the Idol judges with her rendition of Jennifer Holliday song, "And I Am Telling You" on American Idol Top 4 Show. A great song choice for Jessica!

Her second song is "Steal Away' by Etta James. She didn't received a standing ovation for this one but judges think that she nailed it and obviously she has ridiculous vocals.

My Prediction.
I think Jessica will be safe for tomorrow elimination. Although 'wag tayong magpakasiguro. Vote For Her HERE. For me, It's either Hollie Cavanagh or Phillip Phillips are to be voted off tomorrow. You Agree?

Jessica Sanchez sings "Proud Mary" on American Idol Top 5 Show

Jessica Sanchez - Proud Mary

Filipina-Mexican-American Jessica Sanchez sang “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker and “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner on the American Idol 11 Top 5 Performance Show.

I prefer Jessica's "Proud Mary" performance than her "You Are So Beautiful" rendition. Because on that performance she shows that she is not just a singer...that she can groove 'cause she is a total performer. #kudos!

And I totally agree when Jennifer Lopez said to her that she's a little bit of Tina and a little bit of Beyonce.

Akon Wants Jessica Sanchez To Be Eliminated

R&B Recording Artist, Songwriter and Music Producer Akon told E! Online during the 2012 Billboard Latin Music Awards in Miami that he hopes Jessica Sanchez would be voted off in the American Idol Season 11.

His reason? So he can offer her a recording contract.

Here’s Akon Statement:

“I know I shouldn’t be saying this, but I kind of want her to get voted off so I can sign her. She’s beyond the talent that’s supposed to be there. I think she’s overqualified, I really do.”

“And she’s only 16,” Akon added, “Like, I’ve been around a lot of superstars. I haven’t seen anyone at that age sing like that.”
